Father's Day Events

This year, why not make the day even more memorable by taking the dads in your life out for a fun event, enjoying a thrilling or relaxing activity together, and finding the perfect gift to make them feel loved and appreciated. In this guide, we've curated a list of the best Father's Day events in town, along with some of our favorite ways to spend time together.

Father's Day Gift Ideas

There are many gifts geared towards dads when you hit the seasonal aisles of most big-chain retailers but if you're looking for something more personal and meaningful we strongly suggest shopping local! Not only will you support small businesses, but most local shops offer more personal items and often times handmade gifts that offer a unique quality you can't find from the chains.

Take it from someone who knows, shopping for a guy isn't always easy. This is especially true for low-maintenance simple guys such as my spouse who says every year he doesn't need anything. Still, we want to show him how much he's appreciated in some form.

Things to consider when looking for gifts for the man in your life - what are his hobbies? Think about the things he shows interest in and look for ideas that may support that. What are things he frequently uses? Does he own a lot of hats? Perhaps a hat rack is something he needs. Does he collect sports cards? A binder with card holder sleeves would be a great addition to keep his collection organized and preserved.

DIY Gift Idea: Photo Coasters for Dad

We love this thoughtful gift that’s personal, practical, and kid-friendly to make. These DIY photo coasters are the perfect solution — and super affordable!

What You’ll Need:

  • 4x4" ceramic tiles (cheap at most hardware stores!)
  • Photos or kids' artwork, trimmed to tile size
  • Glue stick
  • Mod Podge
  • Small foam brush
  • Felt or self-adhesive felt pads (plus hot glue if using felt)

Instructions:

  1. Use the glue stick to attach a photo or artwork to the front of each tile.
  2. Add felt pads or glue felt squares to the bottom corners to protect surfaces.
  3. Apply 3 thin coats of Mod Podge over the top and sides, waiting 15 minutes between coats. It will dry clear.
  4. Let the coasters dry fully for at least 3 days before using — they’ll feel tacky until fully cured.

This coaster was made seven years ago and continues to be Dad's favorite.❤️

Gift-Less Ideas for Dads

Rather than buying something from a store, a meaningful idea to gift dad this Father's Day is by doing something for him instead. Surprise him on Father's Day with a clean grill or give his ride a sparkling shine:

  • Clean the grill
  • Wash/Vacuum and detail his vehicle
  • Create a customized reel viewer with family photos
  • Watch a movie marathon with his favorite series

Want to Make Him Laugh? Share These Jokes!

Give Dad what he truly wants: Permission to laugh at delightfully terrible puns.

These kid-friendly, dad-approved jokes are easy to memorize and perfect for writing in cards, sharing at the dinner table, or turning into a mini comedy show.

Groan-Worthy Dad Jokes:

  • Why did Dad bring a pencil to the party?
Because he wanted to draw some attention.
  • Why did Dad talk to the refrigerator?
    Because he liked cool conversations.
  • Why did Dad put ketchup on his watch?
He wanted to ketchup on time.
  • Why did the golfer bring two pairs of pants?
In case he got a hole in one.
  • What do you call a grouper wearing a bowtie?
    So-fish-ticated.
  • Why don’t skeletons fight each other?
    They don’t have the guts.

Want to tease him a bit? Try these...

(But only if he knows you're joking out of love!)

  • What’s Dad’s superhero name?
    Captain Obvious.
  • What do you get when you cross Dad with a joke book?
    Groan-up humor.
  • Why does Dad wear socks with sandals?
Because fashion is just a suggestion.
  • Why does Dad always pretend to know directions?
Because the GPS doesn’t understand shortcuts.
  • Why does Dad grunt when he stands up?
It’s the law of the Dadbod.

Whether your kids deliver a keepsake printable, a homemade gift, or just a solid punchline, we hope your Father's Day is filled with laughter and love.
