The Opelousas Kiwanis Club held its annual banquet on Friday night, September 25th at the Yambilee Building, taking a total step back in time! The club traded in its traditional formal attire for a totally radical retro 90s-themed celebration to kick off the club’s upcoming 90th Birthday.
Attendees embraced the theme in style, donning their absolute best 90s-inspired attire—from colorful windbreakers and neon hues to iconic throwback fashions.

Local businesses and supporters brought their A-game to the table decor, engaging in a friendly competition for the best-decorated table based on creativity, all decked out in nostalgic 90s nostalgia.

While the theme brought plenty of fun and memories, the heart of the evening remained focused on making a lasting impact. The annual banquet serves as a vital fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club’s signature project, Kiwanis Kids, alongside investment projects in local youth through higher education scholarships, leadership development, and community service projects across St. Landry Parish.
The evening also gave a major shoutout to several outstanding community leaders and dedicated members for their exceptional contributions.
